Good Sources

Hi everyone!
Today I will answer some questions about sources, and also give some good sources to you, about Australia...

Is this source good or not?
First af all I'll read some sources I usually read, and then I will compare the information in this source with another source that I trust. If the sources says nearly the same, I will use the information from them, and if a source like http://www.wikipedia.org/ tells something else than the other sources I will not trust this source. You should never just read at one source like for example http://www.wikipedia.org/, then maybe you don't get the right information, because on wikipedia everyone in the world can be a member, and edit the text even if it's right! So what I want you to know is: Don't trust a source with less you compare the info. with other sources first.

Find good sources:
It is many ways to how to find good sources. A lexicon like http://www.snl.no/ is a very good source, because the lexicons are written by someone who knows about that they are writing about, and maybe they also work with exactly that thing. It is also book lexicons people use daily, and it is lexicons at the internet to. http://www.snl.no/ is one of them.

Where do you search for them?
Most of all I search on http://www.google.no/, but I also use http://www.caplex.no/, http://www.snl.no/, http://www.wikipedia.org/. If I don't know the answer then either, I try to just search for the word I want to find information about. The most people in the world has heard about these sources, but the most people just want to get the information, and don't try to use other sources. That is not the best you can do..

What to type..
It depends on what I am going to serach for, if I'm going to search about Bjølsen skole I just write "Bjølsen skole", but if I want information about for example the teachers at Bjølsen skole or the classrooms at Bjølsen skole I search for "teachers in Bjølsen skole" or "Classrooms at Bjølsen skole". But everyone has their own way to what to type and what not to type.

Was this answers to the questions good enough?

Australia..

Hi!
After about one week I'm starting to write again! Today I'll write about Australia, and I hope this headline would make you to read finish this post!

I'll be honest. I actually don't know something special about Australia, but after reading other students blogs, it seems right that koalas and kangaroos are very popular in Australia. Our english teacher at 6th /7th grade mentioned sometimes Australia and from that days I also remember that Canberra is the capital. I was only three months in 7th grade, and before I travelled to Pakistan I also worked with The Great Barrier Reef texts. Sverre Vaage (english teacher) also gave tasks about Australia and from that I know that english is the most used language in Australia and their national day is on 26th january. Forward I will focus on facts about Australia and movies or TV shows made in Australia, but I will also learn more about Australia! Now I'm looking forward to learn about it!
What do you know about Australia? Do you have some memories from one time you were in Australia?

Translation or not?

Hi!
Today I will answer this questions, I hope it is easy to get what I mean..
Are translation a good way to learn English?
- Sometimes translation is useful. Teachers give translation tasks to students so they can know what the text is about, and they try to make it easier to know the language better. Then you can talk and write more english and also understand more than just read.. When teachers give translation homework it is also good because at school you don't have any helpers and have to use what you've learned and what you can. No one knows all of the words correctly, sometimes teachers forget some words too. So it is just to translate and then you can know what you are reading. So I want you to translate and know what you're reading. That works for me, and in this way translation is good way to learn english :-)

Web side translation?
-If you don't know something in norwegian you think it is just to translate and then everything is OK. But it is not OK because you really don't know what the word means, when you translate you knows what it means, but the next time in another context you don't know which word to use. One single word can be used in many cases and can have a lot of meanings. Students at school are so lazy that they translate whole sentences. I don't think it's useful to translate sentences because you don't learn much of it. It is just done there and then. I translate words I don't know what means, but I first try to understand the context so probably I may refresh my brain and come up with a word, but if it doesn't work, I use translate or search the norwegian word in a bokmål ordbok and if it is a easier word for that word I use the easier word.- So what I mean is that translation is not a good way to learn english and english grammar because in a context you already knows what it means and what the text is about in norwegian, so you think you know what it is about in english to. But do you?

How to learn grammar.

Hello mates =)
What is the best way to learn grammar?
Today I want to tell how you can get better in english grammar, and talk a bit of the best way to learn it. The first step you can take is to get known with the ten wordclasses (ordklasser). Then you have to read, practise and test yourself for what you can by heart. You can also read one of the wordclasses, adjectives for example, and then you can do tasks or fill in a paper with missing adjectives. It is many ways to learn something, and which way is best to you only you know. You can also use internet at home to find tasks on web-sides to work with. It is worth it. Later in your life you are going to talk very much english, and also have exams in english. Because today english is the most popular language and it is used all over the world. You can now start to practise little bit and when you grew up (if you are a child yet) you will still remember it.
NB: Adults which not can english grammar should start to learn a bit of it to! Better late than never ;)

How are you going to prepare for the grammar test??
I'm going through all the worldclasses and read the rules. I will first start with one of the wordclasses, do tasks to it and try to remember so much I can. I think to read and to do you can get better in anything, you just have to use some of your time and learn all by your heart. That is the way I'm going to prepare for the test :)

Wondering what a wiki/blog is?

Hi, I'm little bit late to write about what a wiki and a blog is, but now I want you to know what a wiki and blog is too. It is very genial pages to use, and why they are, you are going to know when I have wrote this post.

What is a wiki?
Wiki is a webside where you can decide who is going to edit your posts. If you want to share something with your friends you can use a wiki. It is also easier to use than sms and messages. If a group of a class are going to a camp and need to know what they have and dont have to the camp, one of them can create a post and choose that who can edit it. Then he/she can write what they already have and what they dont have. After that someone else in the same group which is chosed to edit it can write what they didn't have and have got by removing it from dont have list to have list. It seems difficult, but it is not. So why don't use a wiki instead of sms each other? Want to create a wiki?: Just copy and paste; http://www.wikispaces.com/
What is a blog?
A blog is like a diary. You can write what you have done or what you want to do. Actually you can write everything in a blog. But remember it is not private so do not with a mistake wirte a personally post. You can decide what you want to write. You can if you want write about a subject at school and what you learn within the subject.
