What does a good PowerPoint presentation really look like?

This monday our class watched a video of  Rowan Monahan about Powerpoint presentation and Dodging Bullets. He has some thoughts about what makes a good presentation and what makes a bad one. What are his thoughs?He think that a Powerpoint presentasion should just have pictures and one or two words which describe the pictures. Monahan also think that many students and also teacher use Powerpoint in a wrong way. They use to much bullet points and that makes the audience tired of watching so much text, because then the presenter just read from the text and the text is already there and it makes it boring. Rowan Monahan also think that the presentation should have much colours, big headlines and some few words. He means that you should drop the bullet points too.

What do you think? What does a good PowerPoint presentation look like?
I think that Rowan Monahan has some very good points in his presentation, that the Powerponit presentation should have colourful slides and much pictures and few words. But sometime you have about a topic there it's no picture which can fit in to the text. It makes it difficult. In many ways I agree with him, but I also think that if you have a very long presentastion. For example when you are going to make a presentation about a country, you can't remember everything, so then I think you should have som bullet point with notes.

Have you ever been present at a really good presentation:
I have seen many good presentations where the audience was interested to know more about the stuff, and the presenter talked loudly and had much pictures. I have seen many many different presentations where people use their own ideas, and it is good to have different presentation from others. But I have never been that impressed that I have wanted to know more about that topic, if I wanted to know more about it, I wanted som extra that impressed me. Like an example you show or a thing within the topic.

Copy, Paste... and Cheat?

Yes! Here we are on again. Today I am telling you somethnig about what the consequences can be if you copy from a text and paste it into your slide and make it to your text. I'm also going to answer some questions.
Why do you think so many students cheat on their exams and papers ("oppgaver")?
I think many students cheat on their exams and papers because they want good grades and try to proove that they can the stuff even if they can't. They doesn't want bad  grades because if they get bad grades it can make it difficult to get the job you have always dreamt about. But copy and paste.. is a very bad way to get good grades. What the cheaters doesn't know is that it is allowd to to wrong. And if you have written something wrong, your teacher tells what the right answer is, and then you learn by your mistake. So just relax. Everyone has done mistakes, but they've also learned from their mistakes.

What is the difference between plagiarizing and quoting?
Plagiarizing and quotiong is two different things, even they also have something in common. I am now telling you about the difference between plagiarizing and quoting. Plagiarizing is that you copy a text from a webside and just paste it in your slide. It is not good because you don't learn something from it. And when you are plagiarizing you take the credit for something you don't have written. It may also be that some texts you copy and paste is bad and you get bad grades, but you actually request it.
- Quoting is different. When you are quoting you read a text and try to write it with your own words. That is good! And when you are quoting you alse name the sources so your teacher can compare your written text with the text from the webside, and someone else can also have use for the source.



Why is it so important to name your sources?
It is very important to name your sources because if some other studens have the same task as you, they can use your source. Your source is also useful to your teacher. Like I said: When tour teacher is reading your text he/she can compare your text with the sources you have used
